Shauna Niequist is a new-to-me author who I am falling hard for these days. Her books speak to my soul. I love her style and her voice, her honesty and her vulnerability. She gives me courage to speak, to write and to be who God made me!

I came across this quote from her on Pinterest yesterday,

“When life is sweet, say thank you and celebrate. When life is bitter, say thank you and grow.”

from Bittersweet.

The past several years of my life have been a great mixture of sweet and bitter. Hard times and wonderful times. I’ve written so much less here on my blog as I’ve retreated a bit. I’m still nervous and trying to decide if I should keep putting myself “out there”.

But I’m working out the kinks and pressing on. I’m so grateful for books that give me a new sense of who I am and a new perspective on all that goes on in this mixed up life we are all working to live out together. It’s refreshing.
