Today, I’m shifting gears; from deep inside my head and heart to a little something more light-hearted and fun. The kiddos and I enjoyed a fun fall day with friends back at the end of September. Cooper had a Friday off school, the weather was lovely and we didn’t want to be cooped up in the house so we went apple picking in Boschertown.

We were very excited to go because we thought we were paying $10.00 for as many U-pick apples as we could haul. But alas, it was too good to be true. We were paying by the lb. But we still had lots of fun and the kids got SO MANY APPLES! The workers were impressed with how well we did at picking “pretty” apples. Plus, frankly speaking, it was less work for them. We picked them and just gave them back!

We did buy some apples…$15.00 worth. I forget how many lbs it was, but let’s just say it was a lot of Golden Delicious apples. Speaking as someone who doesn’t really LOVE apples (that would be me), these were very tasty. I even ate a few and that’s saying something.

It was a fun fall activity and we were home by noon!

  1. The Steilacoom History Museum let us and the Schocks pick as many apples as we wanted this year for free! Peter has made applesauce, and canned apple slices and I’ve made dried apples, and apple jelly! So much fall goodness! I like the red bag! Yay Stouffers or whatever it was!
