This past weekend, we drove down to St. Helens, OR to visit with our friends from St. Louis who were on a big family vacation (The Svolopoulos, the Clark and the Moniz families). Since we were invading them, we just hung around the sleepy little town of St. Helens and went to the places they used to live as kids growing up.
It was a beautiful day and we had a blast bumming around in a 15 passenger van (full of 6 children under the age of 5). Of course, around 2:30 pm the kids had really started to melt down. All their kids were running on major jet lag and no sleep and it was pretty warm outside, so we opted to head back to the house they were staying at to hang out for a bit before we had to hit the road to head back home.
At one point, Carrie, Amy and I were inside with Chase and we were having some chat time. (I think the Dads had the kiddos outside.) I was telling them that I felt like Chase should be rolling over by now, but that he hadn’t done it yet. Carrie asked if I put him on his tummy and I told her not as much as I probably should. I grabbed a blanket, laid it out on the floor and put him on his tummy and HE IMMEDIATELY ROLLED OVER! HA! It was so hilarious. We all cracked up laughing. Then I put him on his tummy again just to see if he’d make a liar out of me. Well, he rolled over again! He rolled over 2 more times for Daddy too.
So our little man is getting pretty big. In other Chase news, he is watching us very intently when we eat dinner. Last night, Jeremy was eating and every time he brought the spoon to his mouth, Chase would get excited and kick his legs and just stare Daddy down. We got it on video…but since WordPress won’t let me do video anymore…you’ll have to go to the flickr site to watch the action.
The rest of the pictures from our little overnight trip are up there too. It was fun times! Chase is now reminding me it is time to eat…so catch ya later!
