Yesterday, I turned 30 years old. *Sigh* I feel REALLY old. In fact, I find myself specifically doing things JUST to prove to myself that I am in fact, not old. I even run clothing choices through an “old lady” filter.  In my brain it sounds something like, “how old do I look in this?”.  I know…it’s awful.

The Bible says nothing but good things about growing older.  Especially as a woman…”Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.”

Regardless of how I feel though, yesterday was probably one of the BEST birthdays I’ve ever had. My sweet and incredibly thoughtful hubby managed to get all my favorite people to absolutely FLOOD my email inbox with mushy birthday wishes. Thank you to my MIL and FIL who managed to send me 6 e-cards. Ha ha ha guys! I especially liked the Jamaican dancing hippos…nice… Thanks everyone else who sent me emails too! You made me feel very loved!

For my super special day, my friend Crystal graciously took Cooper for the WHOLE day. It was so awesome. Not because Cooper is not fun, he just asks 427 questions DAILY. So my hubby took me out on a fun shopping date since we were sans 3-year-old. (The baby was with us, but hey, he is cute, sleeps all the time and does NOT talk. So really, it’s like we are on a date just the two of us.) We dropped Coop off in the morning (for a fun day with his best friend no less) and we headed out to the South Center mall near the airport.

We had a lovely drive there. We listened to music that WE LIKE as loud as we wanted. In fact, thanks Kelli McGill, for turning me on to Jason Mraz. I got his cd and Colbie Calliet’s for presents! “Lucky” is by far one of my favorites!

When we got to the mall, Jeremy let me go into ANY store I wanted and even gave me honest and loving feedback when I asked his opinion on stuff I liked. If you know me, you know I’m a hardcore browser. This literally creates a giant vortex that sucks my husband’s will to live most times that we are at the mall together. But he was very gracious to indulge me yesterday, ALL DAY!

We had lunch at BJ’s,  my new favorite place to eat, and I got fish tacos. YUM! We even had a pazookie-a warm chocolate chip cookie pizza topped with vanilla ice cream! AH! Then we went back to the mall and shopped some more. YAY! On the way home, we made a stop at the Bucks top off the day.

It was so incredibly great! I got stylin’ Easter outfits for the kids and a few things for myself.  It’s funny how something Jeremy and I used to do all the time when we were newly married and sans kiddos is something I LOVE doing now-especially without the kids. It was just wonderful.

Today, I am 29 years+1 year+1 day…and it’s ok. 😀  I’m very grateful to God for the love He showers on me and my family, for the friends He has surrounded us with and the provisions and protections He constantly extends to me. I’m actually really looking forward to seeing what He will do the next 30 years in my life!
