The View from our Front Door

It has been unseasonably cold in Washington this past week, (well, for this early in the winter anyway) and we’ve actually had a decent amount of snowfall! It has been such a treat. Jeremy has been spoiled by his life-long endeavor of having as many snow days as possible. Work was canceled yesterday for him as the roads were color-coded “black” on Ft. Lewis. Everything here on post shut down. I even heard they closed the commissary! (AKA grocery store on post.)

It makes Jeremy and I giggle just a tad because the measurable accumulation is less than 4 inches…but ok. We get it. No salt trucks etc. I think I heard on the news last night that the city of Seattle has 100 snow plows. That’s not very many! But the snow has missed Seattle and has hit further south where we are in the Sound. Down the highway south of us in Olympia, they got 6 inches of snow yesterday!

This morning we woke up to fresh snow and more flakes, so it’s another day off for Jeremy (YAY!) and another fun day for us. Here are some pictures of yesterdays fun too.

The snow is really helping us get into the Christmas mood. Less than a week away! AH! Cooper is so excited for Christmas and so are we. Now we are just praying we are all well for our trip home. I had a little scare this week with some contractions one morning (I overdid it a tad the day before) and Cooper woke up a little scratchy throated this morning. We’re popping extra vitamins and praying to be well!
