Cooper has been an angelic kid in a couple areas over his lifetime thus far. He was a good nurser (once we finally got it down) and he weaned himself, he never said boo when I took his bottles away and switched him to a cup, and he picked up potty training pretty quick. I’m spoiled, I admit it. He’s been just great about those transitions in his life.
Well, at the encouragment of my mommy friends who have gone before me, Jer and I decided a couple weeks ago that it was time to go ahead and potty train Cooper at night too. We were running low on pull ups and Cooper was waking up dry almost every single morning. So we went ahead and took the plunge. I got up with him the first 2 nights at 3 or 4 in the morning, just because I was awake and worried anyway. I went in his room, picked him up, took him to the bathroom and put him on the potty, then I took him right back to bed! On the third night I didn’t do that anymore and so far so good! It’s been a couple weeks and we haven’t had an accident! YIPPIE!
I’m sure I’ll have to revisit this and encourage him to just get up and go potty at night as he gets older….that should be interesting. But in the mean time, I have a 9+ months reprieve of diapers before I get to start alllllllll over again! Horray for little victories! (Even if he is the “I can’t do it” kid. This just proves he can!)
