One of the most thrilling parts of being a parent is being slayed on a regular basis by the hilarity of your offspring. I mean, obviously they hear this stuff from somewhere (mostly us) and then repeat it. But it’s got to be something about the timing of when they say it and the cute baby speech slurs that come along with the comment that tickle the parent.

Cooper has recently picked up something that Jeremy says all the time. When Jeremy says it, it is not funny. It’s just something he says. But now that Cooper has started saying it, it is suddenly hilarious.  (Although now that he knows it’s funny and says it all the time it’s also getting less funny slowly but surely.)

When we are all in the car and Jeremy sees a cool truck or big camper, he always shouts “that’s what I’m talkin’ about!”. Cooper started out asking him in that cute high pitched voice, “that’s what you talkin’ ’bout Daddy?” Like I said, the first time he said it was hilarious; now that he knows it is funny, he just randomly shouts out, “THAT’S WHAT YOU TALKIN’ ‘BOUT DADDY!”

So, what are your kids saying these days that slays you?

  1. Sloan’s new phrase that he says over and over and over, etc… is, “Boy, I gotta lay off the nuts.” It’s a line from the movie Enchanted and he just thinks it’s the most hilarious thing. And is was the first couple of times. Now it’s just annoying… Cooper sure is looking cute. I can’t wait to see him!

  2. I had read this yesterday and then last night on our way to CBS, Ashlynn saw something or Pappa said something and Ashlynn’s response….”that’s what I’m talkin about!” I couldn’t believe it!

  3. Lately when Gabe sees something that he disapproves of he says “I’m NOT impressed!”

This one is kind of gross, we have a cat that pukes a lot (yummy!). When Zion is the one to find the pile she coming running to me and shouts “Mama! Bleh!” and she’ll keep saying “Bleh” over and over until I come and clean it up.
