“Beautiful Child” by Sara Groves

I love Sara Groves. She is one of my all time favorite artists. Her music is so raw and lovely and true. My sweet find (thanks Faith!) is her album you can only buy online. I cry (and so does Jeremy) every time we listen to it. It’s called Station Wagon: Songs for Parents. (It even has songs about marital adjustment opportunities!) You can listen to a little bit of each song on the album at the store on her website http://www.saragroves.com/store.asp#.

This song, Beautiful Child is always a tear jerker for me because I’ve never heard such a lovely truth expressed so perfectly in song.

Today, I’m sitting here listening to this song, enjoying a cup of tea and a few tears that I always shed when I hear this song. Happy tears though, joyful, lovie, ooie-gooie tears. Hope you enjoy a few yourself all you parents:

beautiful child, right from the moment you were born
you overtook my heart, my world
my beautiful child

tender and sweet, both in your crying and your sleep
you radiate a sense of hope
you’re beautiful

and I have seen the most amazing sights in my travels on the earth
misty seas and amber harbor lights
and other things of matchless worth

but next to you, all of the beauty seems so plain
you would think I’d never seen a beautiful thing

and I have seen the most amazing sights in my travels on the earth
seven sacred pools on starry nights
and other things of matchless worth

but next to you, all of the beauty seems so plain
you would think I’d never seen a beautiful thing

I have seen the most amazing sights in my travels on the earth
moonlight sleeping on the canyon heights
and other things of matchless worth

but next to you, all of the beauty seems so plain
you would think i’d never seen a beautiful thing

New York Braces for Controversial Visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Have you guys HEARD this? The President of Iran is being allowed onto US soil! What the heck is going on around here? How can anyone not see how completely NUTS this is? And in addition to that, he is speaking at Columbia University!

This is a man who denies that the holocaust happened. A man who is totally off his rocker – heck, why don’t we just invite Osama Bin Laddin over next?

CRAZINESS! http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,297712,00.html
